Northern Rivers Respite & STA

Offerings

We really want you to have a joyful and personally creative time at Mt Braid.

Relax - we welcome you to drop into a different pace of life, find a shady tree or listen to the sounds of the bush. For those who like to rise early, there is always a reward of still morning light and multitudes of bird songs as the land wakes. Keep a look out for native animals and the many kinds of butterflies. Stargazing is magical on a clear night.

Explore - the permaculture garden has a range of vegetables, fruit and herbs. There are opportunities for bushwalking depending on your skill. Further afield we can swim and picnic at nearby freshwater creeks and explore the beauty of natural surroundings. Bring your fishing gear if you want to try catching your dinner.

Create – we can help you find your creative spirit with painting, clay work, photography, pebble decoration and nature-based art.  Help build a bonfire, make some damper and take in the setting sun over the western ranges.

Stretch – your body, mind and heart in a safe and supported place.

Freedom - to choose any activities that bring you delight on the mountain.

Her specialty is in bringing joy, connection, healing and plenty of fun into your life founded in therapeutic supports.

  • We celebrate the precious beauty of nature, ecosystems and our relationship with all aspects of creation. We encourage you to see our natural surroundings as inspirational and rejuvenating and to take care.

We aim to have a gentle footprint on the earth, being mindful of our resources and how we use them.

Nature-based living invites us to open our eyes to the intricate ecosystems that sustain us, and discover the joy of outdoor activities, mindfulness in nature, and sustainable living.

  • Art based activities use creative expression to promote healing and self-discovery. Through painting, drawing or other artistic forms individuals can explore emotions that are difficult to verbalise. This approach fosters self-reflection, reduces anxiety, and enhances self-esteem allowing participants to navigate personal challenges in a supportive environment.

You don’t need to be Picasso because making art is personal and just engaging in the process is a valuable tool for healing and expression.

  • There is plenty to enjoy at beautiful Mt Braid. Fishing, creek swimming, bushwalking, campfire cooking, bonfires, nature watching, star gazing or a short drive to the river. You can enjoy outdoor games, play the drums, explore a shed full of tools, indulge in art activities or spend some time with our little dog Lyly.

  • Liz and Kate are skilled in mindfulness and meditation practices, offering you the opportunity to connect with yourself and the peaceful natural surroundings of Mt Braid if you wish to explore this experience.
